Discussion workshop: Great expectations in myopia management
Myopia management has the potential to revolutionise the role of optometry in the coming years. As the prevalence of myopia escalates globally our ability to minimise the effects of myopia will transform the lives and ocular health of millions of people. If we are to be successful, the way in which we articulate the benefits of myopia management products will be as critical to the success as our technical ability to fit the product.
Learning outcomes:
An enhanced understanding of communication techniques to manage complaints effectively and avoid unnecessary escalation of an issue
Have a deeper understanding of ECPs' responsibilities in complaint management and how to use a structured process to manage complaints effectively and with empathy
An understanding of how to communicate effectively with a parent/carer to avoid unnecessary escalation of a concern relating to myopia management
An understanding of the importance of good record keeping especially around advice given
