Peer review: Referrals and recalls in practice
This peer review session will feature several scenarios which focus on a variety of themes including the GOC definition of an eye test and the importance of certain elements when testing a child, when binocular vision conditions in young adults may require a referral and when to act quickly in cases where tests reveal significant problems.
Delegates will be able to enhance their ability to communicate effectively with the patients regarding the test outcomes and management plans for a range of conditions to include those that warrant a referral when this is an unexpected finding, as well as explanations where things have changed significantly since the previous test
Delegates will be able to recognise and investigate a range of ocular conditions to be able to appropriately manage them via referral or treatment initiation followed by referral. This will include investigations of binocular vision conditions as well as cases where asymptomatic patient presents with a serious eye condition
