OcuPlan is a new shared-care service between opticians and consultants. Collaborating to provide high-quality care for patients with a long-term eye condition.

OcuPlan is designed to minimise the risk of sight loss for people living with a condition such as AMD, glaucoma or diabetic retinopathy. It was founded during the pandemic to help reduce the pressure on the NHS and provide care for patients who needed regular monitoring.

There are over 7 million people in the UK living with a long-term eye disease, unfortunately a large proportion of these patients aren’t able to receive the care they need. High demand and backlogs within the NHS means that patients are experiencing delays of up to two years and private care is simply too expensive for the majority of people. Patients are losing their sight unnecessarily, this number will continue to grow unless change is made. We’re confident that OcuPlan is the solution and can help millions of patients to receive the care they need, through shared care between opticians and consultant ophthalmologists.
