PRACTICE - Bespoke Eyewear
Bespoke Eyewear opened in 2010, starting as a dispensary for spectacular frames which were unavailable in the UK. From the beginning we knew the value of our window display. We wanted to display our eyewear on polystyrene heads in order to capture our audience with originality and excitement, and so start the rumours of a fabulous new shop in town. In 2012 we commissioned a huge nose and pair of glasses display which has become iconic to the shop. Throughout the year we dress the nose' depending on the festivities; Father Christmas, our Jubilee Window, Pandemic face mask window to name a few. As a result, our bespoke nose not only encourages locals and tourists to stop to take a photograph and come in to shop, but our Instagram and Twitter followers now number more than 3000. Since reopening following the pandemic, our turnover has increased by 35% thanks to large numbers of new and returning clients. Consequently, we are now so well known in the town because of our nose, people use us as a directional landmark - Do you know where the big nose is Additionally, we have many celebrity clients, from Oscar winning actresses to football legends. We have a 3D printed model of Ian Wright's head made to his actual measurements. We send him a picture of the glasses on his ‘head'. If he likes them, they can be perfectly fitted and posted out without him coming to the practice. Ian's head sits in the shop window and passers-by, whether it be local or tourist, often say that's Ian Wright!. Another Instagrammable photo opportunity! Our window attracts new people daily, allowing us to showcase our extensive range of frames and also undertake eye examinations to both national and international clientele.
