The Tomma Fx 48000 kauri by FEB31st
Ancient Kaur is regarded as the oldest and most exotic timber in the world.
Discovered buried underground in the peat swaps of New Zealand's north island, ancient Kauri dates back to the end of the last ice age over 48000 years ago. Felled by an unexplained act of nature these mighty trees fell naturally and were preserved in tact in the peat swaps until their recent discovery. Excavation is very tricky and heavy plant machinery is needed along with permission from the owner of the land where the trees are buried.
Ancient Kauri has a powerful beauty, the grain of the wood has a shimmering gold iridescence making anything made from kauri seen to be as precious as a jewel.
FEB31st have taken this exquisite wood and reinvented it as a collectors piece of luxury eyewear allowing you to own a piece of history.
The Tomma Fx was recently selected by Sheik Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Crown prince of Abu Dhabi who along with the other leading senior members of the ruling state royal family personally selected the Tomma Fx as their eyewear of choice for its strong sustainable message and outstanding beauty,
We are incredibly proud to be able to showcase this rare and valuable wood and introduce it to human eyes in the form of this luxurious spectacle frame.
