Since 1964, Silhouette has stood for stylish, premium frames. In 2017, the brand went one step further with the launch of its first ever range of optical lenses and the development of a new lens lab in Linz. Silhouette Vision Sensation™ is the brand’s new initiative which will allow it to offer Silhouette frames with Silhouette lenses together to its clients. Incorporating lenses into the product offering builds on the existing position of Silhouette as an expert in visual experience, and transforms the brand into a single source supplier of top quality stylish eyewear.
What makes your products/services stand out from the competition?
With its Austrian-made eyewear, the company has been setting benchmarks for style, comfort and material since 1964. The design is limitless and constantly surprising, whilst simultaneously being distinctive and unique. Consistent clarity and weightlessness - a timeless statement. Do you have any product launches lined up for 100% Optical 2018, what can visitors expect to see at your stand, and who do you hope to meet?
In addition to the new, January 2018 optical ranges, Silhouette UK will be showcasing its TMA Unity collection at 100% Optical 2018, which is a brand new concept for the new year combining high-tech materials with Silhouette Vision Sensation lenses.
Attendees at the show can experience Silhouette’s award winning stand first hand, which showcases each of its brands; Silhouette, adidas Sport Eyewear and neubau eyewear. The stand will also highlight Silhouette’s Shop-in-Shop retail display units, an extremely important programme for the brand which marks a significant investment in terms of supporting its key retail partners and optical professionals across the UK and Ireland.
What does the future hold for Silhouette, and how do you see the industry evolving over the next decade?
Next decade! This industry is changing so quickly that 10 year plans for evolution are old hat. We will continue to do what we do best – Austrian designed and manufactured premium eyewear, a complete solution, that aesthetically and functionally fits the needs of our final partner.
What projects have you been involved in that you’re most proud of?
As a relatively new member of the Silhouette UK team, I am keen to get involved in the upcoming projects of all of our brands; I am particularly impressed by the Silhouette Vision Sensation initiative. Silhouette becoming a single-source supplier of lenses designed specifically for our frames opens up a variety of new and exciting opportunities for the company as a whole.
