Description

This talk will cover how professional perceptions of the value of prisms to treat defects of binocular vision can differ. When are they a lifeline? - or an unnecessary crutch? Prof Horwood will cover prism therapy in heterophoria, convergence anomalies and incomitant strabismus from an orthoptic perspective. There is a surprisingly weak evidence base for their value, efficacy and long-term outcomes, despite them being a mainstream treatment with undoubted value.

Learning objective
