You have purchased a Colorimeter Curve from Cerium Visual Technologies. Tell us more about this piece of equipment and what it is used for.

A superb upgrade from Cerium, colorimetry is mainly used for patients reporting problems with visual stress, however we also have carried out assessments on migraine sufferers as well as patients with Epilepsy

We have been doing colorimetry in practice for over 20 years, the new Curve machine got launched and we liked the look of it and decided it was definitely time to upgrade as we were still using the original mk1.

The curve machine looks very modern and has had positive feedback especially from patients that have previously had colorimetry carried out using our old machine.

It is great to see the smiles on people's faces when they realise how colour can make such an improvement to their lives, one gentleman started crying and said he didn't realise how most people see letters on the page when reading.

What has your experience of doing business with Cerium Visual Technologies been like?

Since we have been using cerium for over 20 years we can not speak highly enough of them, the staff are very knowledgeable and are always on hand to answer any questions, provide information for advertising etc, never a problem with any of our spectacle lenses orders.

What challenges do you see facing the optical industry in the coming years? What is your plan to overcome these challenges?

Challenges would be increase in online purchases, decline in footfall on our high streets leading to businesses closing, increase in business overheads.

By increasing awareness of colorimetry in practice, on social media etc we are aiming to increase our business on that side of things.
