The Victoria & Albert Museum’s studies of British plants has provided the inspiration for quintessential British clothing and accessories brand Joules to create its Autumn-Winter 2016 optical frame collection.
As the bright colour palette of summer fades into the crimsons of autumn and cool pastel shades of winter, Joules has used matte tortoiseshell finishes with flashes of colour and rich floral printed patterns that are sure to evoke both memories of summer and a yearning for spring.
New floral patterns, which this season have been enriched with gouache and oils by the dedicated in-house print design team have been realised by expert acetate craftsmen, with faithful print reproductions and double laminations that show off the colour combinations chosen by the brand.
Style CONSTANCE JO3025 is a perfect example of the two-tone acetate. Dark tortoiseshell meets contrasting frosted hues of green, lilac and blue. Subtle use of advanced eyewear production techniques expose the layered colours on the edge of the frame so they may be fully appreciated from the front.
Metal and acetate combination FELICITY JO1026 style uses contrasting light and dark layered metal for the frame’s front profile, while the new floral patterns can be seen on the acetate temples.
The five strong collection is completed by three acetate styles: the easy to wear ALICE JO3010 style with subtle colour flashes; classic panto profile MARCIE JO3026 with floral prints and the adventurous ANTONIA JO3027 with bold temple colours.
The Joules signature hare can be found on all five models on the inside of the temples end tips and nose pads, while the curved, free flowing Joules lettering is engraved on the outside of the frame.
