This season, we once again look to the natural beauty of SALT.’s home state of California and the ideal setting of Joshua Tree National Park. As one of the most recognizable jewels in California, Joshua Tree’s distinctive shapes and cozy seasonal colors made it the perfect location for SALT.’s brand campaign.
From behind the lens, SALT partnered with Clement Jolin who has worked with such brands as Aether, H&M and Chucs. SALT.’s and Jolin’s vision for the campaign was to capture Joshua Tree and its natural beauty that exists through a complex process that's been refined over time.
Much like Joshua Tree, the new C2 2018 collection transforms unique shapes and warm colors into distinctive looks with fluid minimal lines, complex details and colors that remind us of our beloved National Park.
SUCH BEAUTIFUL, MINIMAL DESIGNS....A FRESH NEW SQUARE SHAPE WITH DOUBLE RIVET FRONT (Frame: Gerry) AND A SMALL WOMEN’S
SEMI-CATEYE (Frame: Cookie).
CHECK OUT THE BEVELING DETAIL ON THE TITANIUM EYEWIRE OF THIS FRAME... JUST LIKE THEY USED TO DO IN THE OLD DAYS, QUALITY THROUGH AND THROUGH! THESE TWO DESIGNS LOOK GREAT TOGETHER AND PAIR WELL WITH SOME OF OUR AVIATOR SUNGLASSES AND SEVENTIES INSPIRED OPTICAL FRAMES LIKE KIANI, REBECCA AND CARL.
Frames: Donlan, Stefan and Sherri-Ann
OKAY SO MAYBE THESE TWO STYLES ARE NOT “ALL TIME”, BUT TO TAKE A CASUAL AND RELAXED ATTITUDE THAT THESE STYLES ARE JUST OKAY, DOESN’T FEEL RIGHT... SO PLEASE EXCUSE OUR BRASHNESS (OR MORE CORRECTLY, ARROGANCE) FOR HYPING THESE KEYHOLE BEAUTIES INTO BOTH RX AND SUNGLASSES. SEVERAL KINDS OF STYLES WILL SIT NEXT TO THESE TWO GEMS...SO PLEASE TAKE YOUR PICK BETWEEN THICK AND THIN FRAMES, KEYHOLE OR SADDLE BRIDGE, TITANIUM OR ACETATE AND OPTICAL OR SUN, YOU CAN’T GO WRONG EITHER WAY.
Frames: Buck and Trevor (exist in both RX and SUN)
ANOTHER FINE DESIGN INSPIRED BY A SIMPLER, KINDER ERA...THIS CHUNKY SQUARE SHAPE COULD ALMOST BE CONSIDERED VINTAGE BUT IT WAS REALLY INSPIRED BY ONE OF OUR ORIGINAL CLINICAL DESIGNS YC. WE JUST LOVE THE FLOW OF THIS FRAME AND IT LOOKS SO GOOD ON BOTH MEN AND WOMEN.
WE ARE STOKED WITH THESE SHAPELY NEO-SEVENTIES STYLES THAT WE’RE ADDING TO THE COLLECTION! SLIGHTLY OVERSIZED, DEEPER VERTICAL, KEYHOLE BRIDGE, SOLID SALT. STYLING WITH CLEAN LINES ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE TEMPLES. THESE ARE NICE ADDITIONS TO TY, ARTIE, KIANI, JUNE, AND ARE COLORED UP REALLY NICELY WITH THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF CLASS.
Frames: Nelken and Meg
TWO STYLES FROM THE 50-60’S WE ALWAYS LOVED. THE SQUARE ONE IS ONE DAVID ALWAYS WANTED TO DO, SIMILAR TO ONE OF THE FIRST OPTICAL FRAMES HE EVER HAD, THE MILLING PROCESS AND FILIGREE IS DIFFICULT TO DO BUT WELL WORTH IT WHEN ITS DONE RIGHT. THE ROUND ONE IS JUST CLASSIC! THE COMBINATION OF OLD VS NEW (ACETATE & TITANIUM) WORK SO WELL TOGETHER AND SEEING THEM SIT NEXT TO BROWER, AL AND HENRY IT’S LIKE A WALK DOWN MEMORY LANE.
Frames: Hamilton (exists in RX and SUN) and Theodore.
