Sustainable British eyewear brand PALA are thrilled to announce they will be launching their first ever optical collection at this year’s 10% Optical show.
The name PALA is an homage to the African continent, derived from the ‘impala’ antelope a native species of the savanna. Renowned for their superb eyesight, their main survival tool, this graceful specifies provides a subtle reference to the importance of eyesight and the focus of PALA’s work.
Through their partnership with Vision Aid Overseas PALA provides grants directly into eyecare projects and equipment across Africa, effectively uniting the sales of their eyewear to the giving of a pair of spectacles to a person in need. PALA also work with impoverished weaving communities in Upper East Ghana that make their unique cases from recycled plastic bags and packaging.
There are three styles within this inaugural collection. NIA, EMEM and IME, have been designed to empower individuality and self-expression through their refined shapes and acetate combinations. Referencing their sustainable values, recycled acetate has been used where possible.
