An overview of the current Scheme for Registration from a supervisors perspective with particular focus on best practice in organising, managing, developing and mentoring pre-registration optometrists throughout.Learning outcome(s):

Delegates will learn about coaching and mentoring tools which will help them enable pre-regs to improve and achieve sign off for their core competencies (s.10)

Delegates will work on techniques and habits that build upon the foundations of the compliance requirements of supervision, retaining clinical responsibility for the patient, to ensure patient safety is maintained whist pre-regs optometrists gain relevant clinical and professional experience (s.9).
