Discussion workshop: Trust as a clinical outcome
This workshop offers a space to reflect on where communication and trust can quietly break down within the contact lens journey. Whether it is the assumptions made between colleagues or the gap between what we say and what patients retain, even the most skilled practitioners can benefit from pausing to examine how trust is built across the team and with our patients. Through several exercises, practitioners will explore common pain points such as unclear handovers, clinical jargon, and missed opportunities for follow-up. Together you will find simple, actionable ideas you can implement in your own practice to strengthen patient trust and team cohesion.
Learning outcomes:
- Practitioners will identify how to communicate effectively with their patients in the interest of the contact lens journey
- Practitioners will recognise how trust, caring, compassion, and confidence can be used to optimise the contact lens journey
- Practitioners will identify how to collaboratively work with the practice team to support their contact lens patients
