This lecture will provide an overview of fitness to practise proceedings of the General Optical Council and consider the role that remediation can play in those investigations. The presentation will also consider whether there is merit to completing various types of remediation during such a process and the impact such actions can have.

- Practitioners will understand how to protect and safeguard patients, colleagues, and others from harm
- Practitioners will recognise the importance of being honest and trustworthy, throughout their clinical practice and fitness to practice investigations
