Visual recognition test and discussion: The fundus refocussed - an update on diabetic retinopathy screening and other conditions detected with retinal photography
This interactive visual recognition and discussion session will offer insights into the importance of fundus image quality in the identification of a number of common conditions, including diabetic retinopathy, AMD and optic disc anomalies. Registrants will view a selection of fundus images and answers a series of questions before participating in a discussion covering the issues raised by each case. The session will include an update of the current diabetic retinopathy screening and grading systems used in the UK.

Practitioners are able to interpret digital fundus images and communicate specific findings to the patient

Practitioners are able to identify a number of different conditions, which can be detected using digital fundus photography

Practitioners are able to recognise different levels of diabetic retinopathy and classify the level of disease using recognised national grading protocols
