GÖTTI SWITZERLAND - ACETATE
ACETAT - MASTERFUL POLISH
Our acetate eyewear is known for its high level of comfort, well-balanced design language and incomparable hand polishing. Götti develops the colours for the high-quality acetate in collaboration with a traditional Italian acetate manufacturer. The glasses have been produced in selected factories in Germany and Austria since 1998.
MATERIAL
Acetate is a hypoallergenic, plant-based material. The starting material for production is cotton, a renewable natural product. It is light, dimensionally stable and offers an almost limitless variety of colours. The acetate plates are manufactured exclusively for Götti Switzerland in Italy.
PRODUCTION
Further processing takes place in close co-operation with our factories in Germany and Austria. In the first step, a computer-controlled machine mills the frame from the acetate plate. After many further processing steps, the individual frame parts are polished in a wooden drum for several days to give them a shiny glow and a velvety rounding. In total, over 200 work steps are required before the glasses are ready for the final polish.
HAND POLISHED BY?
A special feature of every pair of Götti acetate frames is the masterful hand polishing. This requires a great deal of attention to detail, experience and skill. Our polishing artists are Barbara, Brigitte, Ludmilla, Renate and Waltraud; they breathe life into the colours and facets with passion and enthusiasm. For this reason, we engrave the name of the polisher on each pair of glasses as a personal quality mark.
