MEA by ocu.care enables rapid, non-invasive visualisation of the meibomian glands at the point of care, supporting earlier detection of meibomian gland dysfunction and dry eye disease. Its ergonomic design allows straightforward imaging of both the lower and upper eyelids, making comprehensive meibography quick and practical in everyday clinics.

There are two MEA configuration options available. One version can be used as a handheld device or attached to a slit lamp. The second version is dedicated exclusively to slit-lamp use.

The system is paired with our cloud-based platform, allowing clinicians to store, compare, and track images over time, support patient education, and, in future, benefit from AI-driven gland analysis and risk stratification.

Our focus is on bringing objective, image-based assessment of the ocular surface into routine workflows—whether in primary care optometry, contact lens clinics, pre-operative cataract pathways, oculoplastic and refractive surgery clinics, glaucoma clinics, or dedicated dry eye clinics—helping clinicians “see earlier” and intervene sooner.
