Maxivisao began to stand out when it decided to carry out Solidarity Missions to deliver glasses with very high prescriptions to countries with serious shortages. Since then, they have carried out seven Solidarity Missions and delivered more than 500 pairs of glasses to countries such as Sao Tome, Peru, North Macedonia, Cape Verde, Kenya, Guinea-Bissau, and Angola. These Missions led to the company winning the "Bestore Innovation" award at the Milan Optical Fair. The initial idea was to deliver glasses using used or pre-owned frames that customers had. They began running take-back campaigns, where customers would redeem their old frames for new ones and keep the old ones for reuse.

The campaigns were a huge success, leading to the Vila Nova de Poiares municipality awarding us the Gold Medal of Merit and the Incentive Award for our contribution to the municipalities where we have stores. We soon realized that most of the frames were not reusable. Since all our stores are certified with the "ESG" seal, which reinforces our commitment to sustainability (Environmental, Social, and Governance), we wanted to repurpose these frames. That's when a new project emerged: "Recycle to Help" by maxivisão.

This project was based on two pillars. The first was the fact that there are two institutions supporting the mentally disabled in the towns where we have our stores that have a recycling project that involves the entire community. Maxivisão decided to train two users from each institution to dismantle the frames, which are then recycled, with the institution receiving the proceeds. Above all, we promote inclusion, with two of these users becoming much more developed. We have already managed to recycle around 6000 frames.
