Visual Fields
Visual Field testing has pretty much remained unchanged since the first Goldmann bowl perimeter was developed by Hans Goldmann in 1945.
Restriction in space and the time taken to undertake visual field tests using the current traditional method can be very limiting and often results in patient non-compliance especially during longer tests.
Utilising the very latest in VR technology, saving space and combining AI algorithms to reduce testing times, Swiss based Perivision’s solution, of a head worn VR Testing device in the shape of the VisionOne is fast becoming widely adopted in both primary care and NHS eye clinics.
Ophthalmologist Bobby Tang, one of the team from Perivision’s clinical advisory panel will be on hand to show and demonstrate and explain more about this innovative visual field-testing solution.
Corneal Topography
Capturing accurate and repeatable topographic maps is essential particularly for bespoke contact lens fitting such as Ortho K and Scleral lenses. This is taken in hand by the proven technology with Medmonts range of Meridia Topographers.
Mastering the interpretation of results, utilising and understanding all the features is often not fully appreciated. On Saturday we are proud to have joining us Optometrist and Memdmont user Indie Grewal, past president of the BCLA. Indie will be on hand for those interested in gaining a better understanding of all things topographic including speciality contact lens design, selection, and fitting.
Furthermore, on both the Saturday and Sunday at 3pm Optometrist Scott Brown and Director of Scotlens will be providing a 30-minute presentation titled “Using your Medmont Topographer for contact lens fitting and myopia management” which is free to join.
Tim Baker CEO for BIB commented “This year to further emphasise our commitment as a Silver sponsor at 100% Optical we have also invested in some of the best possible education facilitators to underpin our commitment of support and to maintain our high level of after sales and service. We look forward to welcoming you at the event”.
