Mad in Italy // New Casaro acetate frame

Mad in Italy // New Casaro acetate frame

Mad in Italy embodies over a decade of Italian artistry, defined by quality, lightness, and a refined use of color. Conceived and developed by Alessandro De Vecchi and Yachal Mom, the brand is dedicated to independent opticians who refuse compromise and choose to assert their expertise and leadership in the field.

The brand’s latest creative chapter begins with a clear inspiration: Italian designers and architects who have always had the courage to transform functional objects into something unexpected, emotional, and new.

After launching a new display inspired by Gaetano Pesce’s iconic UP5 armchair, the brand continues to explore Italian design as a source of creative energy and storytelling. This choice is not simply aesthetic. It reflects a deeper connection with a design culture that has never been afraid to experiment, provoke, and challenge the ordinary.

Designers like Pesce did not simply create objects. They gave them personality, tension, irony, and meaning. Every piece carried an idea, a gesture, and a new way of looking at everyday life. A chair was never just a chair, a lamp was never just a lamp, and a vase was never only decorative. Each creation became a small manifesto, capable of speaking about emotions, freedom, identity, and the relationship between people and the objects that surround them.

This same spirit is at the heart of Mad in Italy. The project is not only about beauty, craftsmanship, or technical excellence. It is about the ability to reinvent tradition through imagination. Mad in Italy has always meant adding something more: a detail, a twist, a cultural reference, an emotion. It is the capacity to make each creation feel alive, unique, and deeply connected to its time.

Mad in Italy takes this heritage and gives it a contemporary voice. It looks at Italian creativity not as something fixed or nostalgic, but as a living attitude made of curiosity, courage, irony, and freedom. Like the great Italian designers who transformed domestic objects into cultural icons, the brand looks at eyewear as a field for expression, not only as a product category. A frame can be functional, wearable, and comfortable, but it can also have a strong personality. It can tell a story before a word is spoken.

The new Casaro acetate frame embodies this spirit. It transforms a men’s frame into something unique, expressive, and thoughtfully designed. Through its proportions, materiality, and character, the frame reflects the same approach that defines Italian design: taking an often-underestimated accessory and giving it a fresh, vibrant, and unexpected identity.

Casaro is not designed to disappear. It is designed to be noticed with intelligence. Its acetate structure gives depth, presence, and substance, while its volumes suggest confidence and individuality. It speaks to a man who appreciates design not only for how it looks, but for what it represents: a choice, a point of view, a way of moving through the world. It’s therefore more than an acetate frame. It is a tribute to the designers who taught us that objects can be emotional, ironic, disruptive, and alive.

In this sense, the connection with Italian designers is emotional and cultural. It is not about copying a shape or reproducing an icon. It is about sharing the same fearless approach: the desire to give meaning to objects, and the belief that even a functional accessory can become a vehicle for creativity, identity, and storytelling.
