Alis is a Highly Specialist Orthoptist at the Royal London Hospital, managing neuro-ophthalmology, adults with learning disabilities, and examination under anaesthesia services. They focus on improving access to high-quality, equitable care for complex and underserved patients. As Visibility Lead for the British and Irish Orthoptic Society (BIOS), Alis promotes outreach, recruitment, and public engagement across the profession. They have led national campaigns such as #WePatch and the promotion of orthoptic-led vision screening, raising awareness of childhood vision, improving treatment adherence, and strengthening the case for mandated vision screening across the UK.
