Eduard Shantsila

Dr Eduard Shantsila is an Academic GP with a cardiology background at the University of Liverpool. He has contributed to the development of cardiovascular management guidelines in the UK and internationally. Following completion of his PhD at the University of Birmingham, he pursued academic interests focused on the prevention and management of cardiovascular diseases, and particularly hypertension and atrial fibrillation. His research explores innovative approaches for diagnosing hypertension, including the application of AI methods to detect the systemic effects of high blood pressure through retinal vascular changes. This work builds on his expertise in understanding vascular function, and inflammation.
