Jagdeep Singh

Clinical engagement manager , Specsavers

Jagdeep Singh graduated with a Master's degree in optometry from Aston University in 2015 and completed his pre-reg year with Specsavers in 2016. He currently works as a specialist optometrist at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in medical retina, urgent eye, diabetic screening and injection clinics. Jagdeep is an independent prescribing optometrist with professional certificates in glaucoma and medical retina. He also works as an AMD optometrist for SpaMedica across various sites in the UK. Since 2018, Jagdeep has worked as a clinical governance and performance lead for Primary Eyecare Services in Staffordshire, Cheshire and Merseyside and is responsible for supporting CCGs and optical practices to establish and maintain extended services in primary care. He has been a member of the Shropshire Local Optical Committee since 2019 and continues to practise as a locum optometrist within the West Midlands. Jagdeep was elected as College council member for the West Midlands region in March 2021 and College representative for the Clinical Council for Eye Health Commissioning in July 2021. He is passionate about local and integrated eye health services and believes that postgraduate education and qualifications will help optometrists play a vital role in reducing the burden on ophthalmic services within secondary care. Jagdeep is now the clinical engagement manager for the West and Wales divisions for Specsavers.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: New dates for 100% Optical - 23-25 April 2022

Following the rapid escalation of Omicron cases across the UK, and with new restrictions possible in the early part of 2022, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone 100% Optical 2022. We have been in dialogue with our official partner the AOP, as well as the OSA, ABDO a number of exhibitors and stakeholders and can say they support this move. We would not wish to put anyone at risk and neither would they.

The new dates for 100% Optical are 23-25 April 2022, and will continue to take place at the ExCeL London.  All visitor registration, exhibitor stand, sponsorship and hosted meetings will automatically be transferred to the new dates. Working with our education partners at the AOP, we will endeavour to honour CPD & education bookings as well, but of course we will need to reconfirm speaker availability for the new dates.

We will be in touch in the New Year to reconnect, and discuss how we can utilise the extra time we have been given to plan this event. 100% Optical 2022 will still be the best one yet, and one we will all have waited over two years for. In the meantime, please do make sure that if you have booked hotel rooms and flights you contact your providers to cancel your booking or move forward in line with the new show dates.  We know how hard this is for everyone, so thank you for your continued support. We know the industry cannot wait to be reunited, as we saw record registrations for this event in the last two weeks. We will use the time to make the event even better.

We would like to wish you all a very restful and safe holiday season and look forward to working with you in 2022.

Best Wishes

100% Optical Team
