Matt Roney
Matt Roney graduated from the University of Bradford in 2017 and underwent his pre registration year at Moorfields Eye Hospital. On completion, Matt started his career as a newly qualified optometrist at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospital, after which he progressed to a senior optometrist post at Alder Hey Children's Hospital, in which he still holds an honorary post.
Matt holds higher qualifications in both independent prescribing and is currently a specialist optometrist at Liverpool University Hospital Foundation Trust, specialising predominantly in glaucoma and eye casualty. For the College of Optometrists, Matt occupies a regional representative post for the North West of England as well as a seat on the board of trustees. In addition, he holds a position as a visiting lecturer and examiner at the University of Hertfordshire in both glaucoma and independent prescribing.
