Paul founded a domiciliary optical practice based in the southeast of England in 1995, which grew into a nationwide chain of franchised domiciliary practices. As CEO, Paul used his professional and personal skills to lead a customer focused and innovative business. Paul sold and exited the optometry business in 2021 and became co-chair of the domiciliary eye care committee, an AOP domiciliary optometrist councillor and was elected to the AOP board in 2024. In 2025, Paul was invited to serve as the clinical advisor for the Optical Consumer Complaints Service.
