Rakesh Kapoor

Rakesh Kapoor initially joined Specsavers in 1993, becoming a store partner in Wembley the following year. In 2000, he completed an MBA degree and, more recently, a professional certificate in Glaucoma. An experienced pre-reg supervisor, he is actively involved in the Specsavers Pre-Reg Academy, having designed and led the pre-reg contact lens course and delivered the pathology course. During his portfolio career, he has been a NHS Ophthalmic Adviser for London, GOC fitness to practise committee member, visiting lecturer at City and Anglia Ruskin universities, College of Optometrists Non-EU examiner and a board member of Brent CCG. He is a College of Optometrists councillor (representing London), fellow of the College of Optometrists, BCLA and European Academy, and currently chair of the membership committee of the BCLA and president elect. Rakesh is also is a partner of Wembley, Wembley Hearcare, Edgware, and Stanmore stores, a WOPEC lead, and a former chair of London Division and lead head of EOS, and an active member of Vision Aid Overseas. Rakesh is now the clinical engagement manager for the South division for Specsavers.
