Sana is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, specialising in complex glaucoma and cataract surgery. She completed advanced fellowship training at Moorfields and is a fellow of both the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and the European Board of Ophthalmology. Sana co-authored the glaucoma patient course and the emergency glaucoma guidelines. She is a surgical skills tutor, examiner, and portfolio assessor for the Royal College, and has served as chief resident and chief fellow.
