Sancy Low

Ophthalmologist, Guys and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust

Dr Sancy Low is a cataract, refractive and glaucoma surgeon at Guys and St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and owns her private practice at Wimpole Street, London. She has a holistic approach and is an excellent comprehensive ophthalmologist shown in her leadership of the minor eye conditions programme in South East London. It is one of the only integrated care boards with a full program for paediatric eye screening, glaucoma refinement, cataract community-led post-operative review program to support a population of over 1.2 million people. She performs over 500 procedures annually and this continues to increase. Her PhD at Moorfields Eye Hospital and UCL Institute of Ophthalmology resulted in the cloning of the first known gene to cause primary angle closure glaucoma, SPATA13. Through her research, she has a deep understanding of ocular biometry and how it causes physiological and pathological changes that we now see very widely in myopia and glaucoma. Sancy was the winner of 'Excellence in Glaucoma Care Awards' last year.
