Yiyuan Chen

Yiyuan is the chief biophotochemical scientist at Edinburgh Biosciences and holds a PhD in structural biology from the University of Edinburgh. His research focuses on the biophotochemistry underlying cataract formation and the light-mediated restoration of age-related changes in lens proteins. Over the past decade, he has led the scientific work underpinning Revisyon, spanning molecular-mechanism studies, translational modelling, and clinical evaluation. This lecture explores how advances in biophotochemical science can inform non-invasive approaches to vision loss related to cataract and support evidence-based clinical practice.
