Discussion workshop: Excellence in experience

Clinical excellence is taken as a given when catering for contact lens patients. But, does this also apply to the customer service aspect of the contact lens fitting process? In this discussion session we will consider the latest findings from research gathered from 100% Optical 2023 and the Fresh Thinking campaign, to truly understand practice ways of working and balance this with viewpoints from potential and existing contact lens wearers.

Learning outcomes:

An understanding of the settling times required before assessing contact lens fitting

An understanding of current regulations and guidance with regards to the fitting of contact lenses and issuing of specification

An understanding of the importance of efficient diary management to be able to provide excellent customer service and convenience

An understanding of the importance of training and supporting staff to perform application and removals, and where to find resources to aid this.
