Peer review: Ultra-widefield multimodal retinal imaging

This peer review will focus on the use of ultra-widefield imaging and OCT during a detailed retinal examination and outline the benefits these technologies offer to aid detection and diagnosis of abnormalities.

Learning outcomes:

An understanding of the techniques used to examine the central and peripheral retina, and the ability to recognise the normal structures and common abnormalities of the central and peripheral retina.​

The ability to differentially diagnose a range of common retinal abnormalities from their symptoms, signs, and further investigations

An understanding of the surgical and medical treatment of a range of retinal conditions including retinal hole, naevus, CSR, and diabetic retinopathy. 

An understanding of when referral is appropriate and the referral protocols for a range of common retinal abnormalities.​
