Peer review: Ultra-widefield multimodal retinal imaging
This peer review will focus on the use of ultra-widefield imaging and OCT during a detailed retinal examination and outline the benefits these technologies offer to aid detection and diagnosis of abnormalities.
Learning outcomes:
An understanding of the techniques used to examine the central and peripheral retina, and the ability to recognise the normal structures and common abnormalities of the central and peripheral retina.
The ability to differentially diagnose a range of common retinal abnormalities from their symptoms, signs, and further investigations
An understanding of the surgical and medical treatment of a range of retinal conditions including retinal hole, naevus, CSR, and diabetic retinopathy.
An understanding of when referral is appropriate and the referral protocols for a range of common retinal abnormalities.
