My recommendation is...
How many patients do you see each day? All of them wanting you, their eye care expert, to give them your professional opinion about their eye health or what they need to do to see brilliantly. It is a lot of responsibility! Providing a professional clinical recommendation gives direction and clarity to your patient about what is best for them. How many times while talking to a patient do you wonder if they are really understanding and remembering your recommendation or if they are going to follow through with the commitment?
As you will appreciate, it is not always easy for your patient to hear, understand or retain the information you're sharing for various reasons. Or is it that you might be uncomfortable discussing the very best option for your patient? Eye care professionals often report that they can feel most awkward with a 'money based' conversation. Vision correction solutions require this and perhaps even more so with contact lenses. In this session we'll explore why this might happen and what things you can do to deliver your recommendation, even the difficult and more uncomfortable conversations, further improving their compliance.
Learning outcome:
Practitioners will recognise how to communicate effectively with contact lens patients to offer the best eye care options and support compliance.
