Rethinking perimetry: contemporary concepts and future possibilities
This session will discuss how visual field testing works, and how it can be improved. Specific topics will include: How the accuracy and reliability of visual field testing can be improved by optimising the stimulus How test efficiency can be improved by using AI to relate functional tests to structural imaging of the retina How lessons from the emerging field of “affective computing” can be exploited to make visual field testing more robust How telemedicine might be used to augment existing in-clinic testing. Consideration will also be given to what the future of visual field testing may look like in 10 to 20 years.
Learning outcomes:
Practitioners will identify how to improve the accuracy and reliability of visual field testing
Practitioners will recognise how emerging technologies could influence visual field testing in the future.
