Myopia Focus
How the UK public views Myopia
Myopia is now a well-known issue for eye care practitioners globally. In some countries, there is strong public awareness of the condition, most notably in Southeast Asia. This is perhaps not surprising.
But, what is surprising is the seeming lack of public awareness, understanding or concern about progressive myopia in the UK. Parents don't appear to be informed about the potential causes and, more importantly, the therapies available to their children.
In this talk, we will examine some interesting surveys conducted by Myopia Focus and discuss how this lack of public awareness might be changed.
