Woodspeen Training are looking forward to attending 100% Optical in February to meet businesses from across the optical spectrum and discuss how they can harness the power of apprenticeships to catapult them to the next stage of their development.

With over 30 years experience delivering high class apprenticeships to learners across England, Woodspeen Training employs FBDO qualified tutors that are still practicing Dispensing Opticians. This ensures that our apprentices are receiving not just high quality training, but also support to have a deep understanding of the industry they are working in.

With a 100% distinction rate for our optical apprenticeships, businesses can be sure any apprentice recruited through Woodspeen Training will be of the highest calibre.

Woodspeen Training recognises that optical businesses require a range of skills to support growth. Including courses to support leadership and management and offers apprenticeships in those areas which can be used to upskill existing staff, allowing businesses to retain their skills and experience, and create effective succession plans.

 

Claire Baxendale, operations manager, said “This is our third year of attending 100% Optical, what keeps us coming back is not only does it let us see the new trends in the sector, which we then take back to our apprentices to reinforce their learning.”

 

“It also allows our tutors to attend the outstanding CPD accredited seminars and workshops to really enhance their knowledge, that then goes on to impact the quality of teaching available at Woodspeen Training.” She continued.

Woodspeen Training’s short courses include: Autism Awareness, Behaviour that Challenges, Cancer Support, Care and Management of Diabetes, Children and Young People’s Mental Health, Common Childhood Illnesses, Data Protection and Security, Digital Skills, Equality and Diversity, ESOL, Information Advice and Guidance, LGBT Inclusion in the Workplace, Make-up and Beauty Consultancy, Mental Health First Aid, Nail Services, Nutrition and Health, Personal Exercise Health and Nutrition, Prevention and Control of Infection, Safeguarding and Prevent, Safe Handling of Medication, Self Harm and Suicide Awareness, and Specific Learning Difficulties. These courses are funded through the Adult Education Budget and available to learners aged 19 and above.

 

With a team of over 180 full time directly employed staff, Woodspeen Training offers full service support to the over 2000 employers it works with, including recruitment and pastoral support. Woodspeen Training currently has over 4,000 learners on programme, many of which will go on to undertake a further qualification with us after they have completed their initial course.

 

The courses offered by Woodspeen Training has enabled us to support learners to create the basis of a strong and sustainable career in their chosen sector.
