Grant Duncan
Grant Duncan has worked in the field of medical and ophthalmic imaging since 1992. He was a council member and twice chair of the British Association of Retinal Screening (BARS) where he was involved in various diabetic eye screening sub-groups and expert reference panels, working towards the development of the City and Guilds diploma for diabetic eye screening and professional registration and regulation. A highly experienced retinal grader with a background in medical photography he project-managed the development and delivery of a number of diabetic eye screening services in the southeast of England and established a university-accredited training programme teaching diabetic retinopathy screening and grading. Grant completed his MSc in diabetes in 2008 with his research examining the effectiveness of diabetic eye screening training. He joined Specsavers in October 2021 as director of professional development.
